Can you believe this?
We’ve seen many signs of the impending takeover by our mechanical overlords, but this video let’s us breathe a little easier. Robot maker Kuka Industries challeneged German table tennis champion Timo Boll (no relation to Uwe Boll, I hope) to a match with their latest creation, the Agilus robot arm. It was an intense match, but Timo was able to keep his composure and defeat his bionic opponent, allowing us fleshbags to live another day.
Of course, this just means the machines now have extensive human table tennis data, and will somehow use it against us in the future. Plus they still have the advantage of being able to taser us from afar, but let’s worry about that another day.
